Dan Lewis is a nationally recognized digital forensics expert, instructor, and consultant with more than a decade of frontline investigative experience. He retired as a lieutenant from the Ferguson Township Police Department to pursue his passion for teaching and supporting investigators on a larger scale, bringing advanced digital forensics expertise to agencies and attorneys who rely on clear, court‑ready results.

During his law enforcement career, Dan founded Centre County’s first multi‑agency digital forensic laboratory, providing leadership in lab design, policy development, training, and workflow development while supporting major investigations across more than a dozen agencies. His experience spans mobile, computer, cloud, and network forensics, with a focus on delivering defensible, real‑world solutions that stand up to scrutiny.

Dan holds a Master of Science in Cybersecurity – Digital Forensics from the University of South Florida with honors and maintains advanced industry certifications including Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (IACIS), Certified Mobile Device Examiner (IACIS), Cellebrite Certified Instructor, Cellebrite Certified Mobile Examiner, GIAC Advanced Smartphone Forensics Certified, and Certified GrayKey Operator.

Dan also serves as an international instructor, curriculum developer, row coach, and mentor for the International Association of Investigative Computer Specialists (IACIS) and teaches courses for Cellebrite.
